
DAY 1- RISHIKESH:
Today we take you to a hotel at Rishikesh. In the evening, you can experience the divine Ganga Arati (worship of the river Ganges) simply stroll along or sit by its banks.
DAY 2- RISHIKESH TO UTTARKASHI(6 to 7hr):
Today, we start early after breakfast to drive to Uttarkashi. Situated on the bank of roaring Bhagirathi, this town is famous for the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM). The drive to Uttarkashi is beautiful and along the Bhagirathi river.
We'll arrive at Uttarkashi in the afternoon. After lunch and some rest, we'll walk up to the Kashi Vishwanath temple followed by a tour of NIM.
We'll stay the night at a hotel / Tourist guest house.
DAY 3- UTTARKASHI TO GANGOTRI(5 to 6hr):
Today, we'll drive to Gangotri after breakfast . We'll stop for lunch enroute at Gangnani and you could even take a splash under a refreshing hot spring. We'll arrive at Gangotri in the afternoon and we'll help you check in to your hotel / Tourist guest house. In the evening you will witness the Ganga Arati again and the worship of the goddess in the temple.
DAY 4 - GANGOTRI (for acclimatization):
Most trekking agencies do not include this acclimatization day in their itineraries but we consider acclimatization as one of the most important elements for a successful trek. Hence, today we'll explore Gangotri. We will visit the Surya Kund where you will find interesting rock formations eroded due to the strong current of the Bhagirathi. We will also visit the Pandava Gufa which is believed to have been the resting place of the Pandavas of the Mahabharata. In the evening you can stroll in the market area or simply sit by the banks of the Bhagirathi.
We will have an early dinner today as the next day is going to be strenous :)
DAY 4- GANGOTRI TO BHOJ KHARK(5 to 6hr):
We wake up early today and after breakfast, we embark on our trek to Bhoj Kharak. The trek to Bhoj Kharak is a steep ascent right from the start. After an hour's climb we traverse the Kedar gorge to reach Bhoj Kharak. The entire trek is along the Kedar Ganga , through fir (cedus ) and Bhoj (birch) trees. The bark of birch was used as paper for writing ancient manuscripts in India. Today, we'll set our camps here.
DAY 5- BHOJ KHARAK TO KEDARKHARAK (4 to 5hr):
Today we leave the tree line and trek through a long meadow with the Bhrigupanth peak in the backdrop. We arrive at Kedar Kharak and camp near a gushing stream in the meadow. Overnight at camp.
DAY 6- KEDAR KHARAK TO KEDAR TAAL (4 to 5hr ):
It's going to be challenging today! The trek is very steep and through boulders and stones. However, this grueling climb is worth the effort as we are soon greeted by the pristine and crystal clear waters of the Kedar Tal. You can see the Thaleysagar peak from here with its reflection in the lake. We set our camps here.
DAY 7- KEDAR TAAL TO BHOJ KHARAK (5 to 6hrs):
Wake up early today if you do not want to miss the spectacular sunrise! After breakfast, we trace your steps back to Bhoj kharak via Kedarkharak where we stop for lunch. Overnight at camp.
DAY 8- BHOJKHARAK TO GANGOTRI (6 to 7hrs):
Today, we start trekking down to Gangotri . After reaching, we'll help you check into a hotel/guest house.
You can spend the evening at leisure or simply to assimilate the beauty of the lake that you had just witnessed a day back!
DAY 9- GANGOTRI TO RISHIKESH(10-12hrs):
We leave Gangotri early in the morning today after breakfast and drive towards Rishikesh. We will stop for lunch at Uttarkashi. Overnight at hotel..
DAY 10- TRANSFER TO RAILWAY STATION
