Winter Treks in Uttarakhand!
While most of the high altitude trekking trails will be out of bounds due to heavy snowfall, there are a few that are accessible throughout the year. Check out the following awe inspiring winter treks that you can easily embark on during the winters.

Deoria Tal is a mountain lake situated at an altitude of 3035m above sea level. It is a short hike of 3km from Sari village which is about 8km from Ukhimath. Legend has it that this lake is the same one as that described in the Mahabharata where Yudhisthir, in return for water from the lake to quench his thirst, had answered the questions asked by the sage Yaksh. Dayara Bugyal situated at an altitude of 3035m above sea level transforms itself into a stunning skiing destination during the winters. We have experienced and certified skiing instructors who can give you a taste of skiing. These instructors also conduct regular skiing courses in the early part of February. Skiing equipment will be provided by us. Alternatively, it is an excellent camping site also. The Chopta - Tunganath trek is another excellent option for a winter trek. This can easily be combined with the Deoria tal trek listed above as they are located only 20km apart. The trek starts from a village called Chopta which is 30km from Ukhimath. For a detailed trek itinerary, please click here.
